Flight Lieutenant Patrick Dorehill was the second pilot of a Lancaster which carried out a daring daylight attack on the MAN diesel-engine factory in Augsburg, southern Germany, earning him an immediate DFC and his captain, Squadron Leader John Nettleton, the Victoria Cross.
